Topic: Sustainable, Responsible, Impact Investing: Making Money and Making a Difference

Socially conscious investors have led business through an evolutionary process to a point where corporate social responsibility and sustainability are creating competitive advantage — encouraging innovation, attracting talent, increasing sales, improving customer retention, reducing emissions, lowering costs, enhancing profitability.  How do investors view companies through a “sustainability” lens?  Who are these investors?  How have responsibly invested portfolios performed?  This Brown Bag conversation is designed to answer these questions, and many more, from the perspective of U.S. investors with over $3 trillion committed to SRI.

Steve Schueth is President and Chief Marketing Officer of First Affirmative Financial Network, an independent Colorado-based registered investment advisor that offers portfolio management and consulting services for socially conscious individuals and mission-driven institutional investors.

Mr. Schueth leads the team that produces the premier annual sustainable, responsible, impact investing conference, SRI in the Rockies.  A financial services professional for over 30 years, Mr. Schueth has been a nationally recognized authority, consultant, and resource to the responsible investment industry since 1989.  His background includes twelve years with First Affirmative, eight years in senior management with Calvert Investments, eleven years as a director of the Social Investment Forum, and three years as Director of Development at The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.

Mr. Schueth serves as a director of the Alliance for Sustainable Colorado and the Americans for Nonsmokers Rights Foundation.
